Jan 2016 July 2022 The project’s goal is “to enable Persons with Disabilities (PWD) and their families to attain an improved quality of life as equal citizens, and to create an environment where PWD can be rehabilitated holistically into their communities”.

 

1. Children’s clubs have maintained their positive influence by participating in various social

events, giving a message of public awareness and encouragement to PWDs.

2. Disability networks have been gradually developing their capacities for expressing their views in meeting and advocating with other agencies.

3. The government and non-governmental organizations concerned are taking the issue of disability as a priority.

4. There is an increasing number of PwDs who receive Social Security services and disability ID

cards.

5. People with disabilities who are considered weak in relation to social power and anticipation

has increased access in social empowerment.

NRL Livelihood World Vision International Nepal Kedarseu Rural Municipality Variability Oct 2020 Sep 2022 Nutrition and Resilient Livelihood Project and it targets to meet the goal through Increasing families’ access to improved food security and nutrition and the activities under it includesincreasing agricultural production by providing quality inputs (seeds, machineries and fertilizers),

3 providing training and demonstration, raising awareness about food utilization and promoting kitchen gardening for ensuring proper nutrition. The other outcome is about increasing family resilience through income adequacy and security. The activities under this outcome aims at

promoting entrepreneurship and business skills as alternative means of livelihood. The activities that

target disaster risk reduction also falls under this category. The promotion of saving culture in community people (specially MV families) and increasing their access to credit is also planned for resilience development.

5 SRIJANA- 1st Livelihood UMN Thalara Rural Municipality Migrant returning Families members Jan, 2020 Dec, 2022 SRIJANA-I: The project especially focusses to the migrants’ people and their families. It aims to improve their life form entrepreneurship, promoting of marketing, enhancement of skill and also the addressing the Climate issues in Thalara RM (January 2020 – December 2022). On the first phase we have reached 45% in women, 23% of Dalit and we included 18 persons with disability. From the project 16 youth have started the organic farming and they have improved their livelihood from farming. Same like that we have supported and enhance the skill of Fish farming in the area, irrigation facilities, planting of various plant, promotion of Bee farming in the community. We have not only focus of agricultural product but we have also been liking the youth farmers to the market. We have also been working on value Chain for the well being of Migrants and their families. In this phase we have reached 108 people who have taken vocational training. Among them 36 persons have turned their selves as a self-employment and many of them have started their own business in the RM.

The main goal of this project is to limit the spread of COVID-19 and reduce its impact on vulnerable children and families.

11 SRIJANA II Livelihood UMN Thalara Jan 2023 Dec 2025 SRIJANA-II: Creating Opportunities for the Social and Economic Well-being of Migrants is a two-year project (January 2024 – December 2025) implemented in Thalara Rural Municipality, Bajhang, aimed at promoting dignified and self-reliant livelihoods for 565 youths and returnee migrants. The project specifically targets marginalized groups, including 40% women, 24% Dalits, persons with disabilities, single women, minority groups, and disaster-affected individuals.

Building on lessons from the first phase, SRIJANA-II seeks to create market-oriented livelihood and employment opportunities through three core objectives: (1) Supporting high-value agriculture and non-agriculture-based microenterprises to increase income and improve livelihoods; (2) Enhancing vocational skills, on-the-job training, and job placement for youths and returnees; and (3) Strengthening the capacity of local governments and partners to implement the Youth Employment Creation Strategic Plan.

July 2022 July 2025 The Disaster Risk Management (DRM) Project in Thalara Rural Municipality (RM) is a three-year project (Mid-July 2022 to Mid-July 2025) implemented across all nine wards of Thalara RM in Bajhang District. The project aims to enhance the disaster resilience of both the local government and vulnerable communities, directly benefiting around 4,500 people, with a focus on women, Dalits, persons with disabilities (PWDs), disaster survivors, displaced and other at-risk groups.

Khaptadchhanna R.M ,Bajhang Women Dec 14 2023 June 30 2026 The Innovations in Agriculture and Livestock Value Chains Development (IALVC) is a strategic  partnership between Heifer International Nepal, Khaptadchhanna Rural Municipality, and Progressive Youth Society aims to combat poverty through a comprehensive program based on the Self-Help Group (SHG) model. This initiative emphasizes transforming agriculture into a dignified industry while linking local farmers, particularly women, to financial institutions. By fostering social capital development, the project seeks to empower participants through enhanced productivity in agriculture and livestock, as well as through increased employment opportunities and entrepreneurship. Engaging 1,050 women from marginalized communities, the program has established 12 Original SHGs and 24 Pass On Gift SHGs consisting of 25 memmbers each. It provides essential training in cooperative management, accounting, and entrepreneurial skills, thereby equipping participants with the tools needed for sustainable economic growth. 950 households are supported through market linkage & support.
